A one-hour guided tour at 11am on Sunday 30 June will bring the history of Leicester’s Magazine to life – the 15thth century stone building which originally formed the gateway to the Newarke religious precinct and later became a munitions store during the English Civil War.

With many steps to climb, the tour is not suitable for very young children or those with mobility issues.

The Great Hall of Leicester Castle opens for a guided tour at 12.30pm on Sunday 30 June.

Each tour will last one hour and will be led by an experienced guide.

Tickets for each tour cost £6 (£5 for children, students and over 60s) and must be booked in advance at leicestermuseums.org or by calling Newarke Houses Museum on 0116 225 4980.
