The special agent suffered minor injuries in the crash with the cruiser Barrie

City police say the driver of the other vehicle was charged with failure to slow down for approaching or stopping emergency vehicles

A Barrie police cruiser was involved in a collision at the intersection of Essa Road and Tiffin Street on Thursday.

At 6:30 p.m. on June 20, police say the cruiser was struck by a car in the right rear corner as they entered the intersection en route to a call “with emergency lights and siren activated,” according to the communications coordinator of to the police, Peter Leon. Friday.

The officer driving the vehicle was not injured, but the passenger, a special agent, suffered a minor injury, according to police.

Police say the “at-fault” driver of the other car was not injured.

The person was charged with failure to slow down for approaching or stopping emergency vehicles.

The police vehicle sustained damage to the rear axle.
