Manchester United fixtures for 2024-25 Premier League season: Early clash with Liverpool and no daunting months

Manchester United start the new Premier League season at home to Fulham.

Erik ten Hag oversaw a historically disastrous previous campaign, finishing eighth after months of dismal performances amid a host of injury problems and growing concerns about the manager’s ability to take the club forward.

However, defeating Manchester City in the FA Cup final proved pivotal and Ten Hag would be given another season in the role. He will need to get off to a good start to keep Sir Jim Ratcliffe & Co. on his side, and the opening round of matches is quite good with the club’s situation. Brighton, Liverpool, Southampton and Crystal Palace follow the visit of Fulham on the first Friday night of the season.

United simply need to improve their results against the biggest teams in the Premier League. Their first real test comes at Arne Slot’s Liverpool at the end of August, while Manchester derbies against Man City take place in December and April.

The traditional festive period will see United travel to Wolves on Boxing Day, with the season ending at home to Aston Villa. No run of games looks daunting, perhaps in February and March with Tottenham and Everton away before Ipswich and Arsenal at home and a trip to Leicester.
