How Birmingham Airport parking compares to other UK airports

The price of parking at Birmingham Airport has been ranked against all major airports in the country – and it’s not good news for tourists using the Midlands hub. Airport parking prices can be a real headache, with travelers often having to pay hundreds on top of their flight and accommodation costs.

The BHX car park is managed by NCP, which is said to “regularly review” prices to keep them in line with other competitors. However, recent research places BHX as the most expensive airport in the country for parking outside of London.

It’s a grim admission for Solihull BHX, research by calculators MyVoucherCodes found it costs an average of £176 to park for two weeks at Birmingham Airport, more than any other major airport outside the capital. The research is based on the average cost of parking for two weeks at more than 140 car parks in the 19 busiest airports in the country.

The money-saving website found that outside of London, Birmingham Airport had the highest average price for a parking space over 13 months.

In fact, the research found that travelers from this region would probably be better off flying from East Midlands Airport. A parking space is on average £74 cheaper at East Midlands Airport and driving the extra distance only costs around £4.76 each way in fuel, leaving flyers with a saving of £64.

Other airports outside the capital which were found to be particularly expensive for parking included Bournemouth (£171.45), Bristol (£153.33) and Cardiff (£135.38).
