Liverpool can offer three players to seal the transfer of Jamal Musiala | Football | Sports

With new Bayern boss Vincent Kompany looking for a centre-back this summer, Joe Gomez has emerged as an option if Bayer Leverkusen star Jonathan Tah turns down a move to their Bundesliga rivals.

Gomez enjoyed his best year in a Liverpool shirt last season, with his versatility invaluable to Jurgen Klopp during the injury crisis, but it remains to be seen how he will fit in under Slot.

He has even earned a place back in England’s Euro 2024 build-up, but could be considered Slot’s fourth choice behind Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahim Konate and Jarrell Quansah, and best suited to cut any fee for Musiala.

Sepp van den Berg

Sepp van den Berg has already revealed his burning desire to leave Liverpool this summer after a splendid season with Bayern’s rivals Mainz. Bayern will have spotted the promising Dutchman and even with the arrival of compatriot Slot, the 22-year-old is set to leave.

With additional defensive reinforcements sought by Bayern, Van den Berg could be given the chance to continue his development in the Bundesliga, a league which the £20million-rated centre-back has already sprung.

“(Liverpool) didn’t trust me all this time, but you want to prevent my future,” he said in an explosive interview. “I want to keep playing every week and keep developing. In Germany, I like it. Dortmund away with 70,000 people, Bayern Munich away against Harry Kane, Stuttgart, Leipzig, Leverkusen, against clubs like that I’m challenged every week.”
