Leicester Tigers have announced the signing of center Will Wand ahead of the 2024/25 season.

A product of the Leicester Academy, the 22-year-old began his career at Cambridge, where he made 20 appearances in National League One before moving to Coventry.

Ward impressed for Coventry scoring 14 tries in 22 games and was named in the Championship team of the season.

“It’s an incredible opportunity to join Leicester Tigers, my boyhood club,” he told the club’s official website.

“Growing up my family always supported Leicester Tigers and I went to many matches at Mattioli Woods Welford Road.

“I can’t wait to keep learning and working hard and I’m excited to be a part of the group.”

Leicester Tigers head coach Dan McKellar is delighted that Ward is joining the club ahead of the new season.

“Will is a great addition to our group.”

“Will is a guy who has had to earn his opportunities and, at 22, he already has good experience at Championship level under his belt.

“No doubt he’ll relish the chance to come in and work hard and prove he belongs at this level.”
