‘Avian panic’ when seagull gets trapped in South West kebab shop

This was the moment a seagull threatened to wreak havoc in a late-night takeaway – before being quickly dealt with by staff at the kebab shop. The drama was captured by a customer just seconds after the cheeky seagull snuck into Flames, near Gloucester Quay, Gloucestershire Live reports.

As soon as it was heard, the hungry bird took flight, trying to evade the catch, while at the same time trying to pounce on the food behind the counter. The bird managed to reach the serving counter briefly while a customer screamed continuously, before the bird was plucked away by a member of staff who unceremoniously tossed the unfortunate bird out the door.

The incident happened at around 12.20pm on Thursday night this week and was filmed by Daniel Cooper. Local artist and resident DJ at the Moon Under Water Wetherspoons in Cheltenham, said the bird stayed there long enough to poop on a customer.

“My friend Roger and I were waiting for a spicy veggie pizza when I felt something stretch the back of my leg,” he said.

“I looked around and the seagull flew in front of me, so naturally I took out my phone and captured the next 15 seconds of avian panic. The staff dealt with the situation relatively calmly and quickly managed to remove the seagull, unfortunately not before it had a chance to defecate on a fellow customer’s football table,” he added.
