Leeds United exchange transfer documents – Announcement on way to new exit

Leeds United are exchanging paperwork with Real Betis for Marc Roca to make his move to the Spanish side permanent.

That’s according to Diario de Sevilla, who report that an announcement regarding the deal is imminent for the midfielder after the two sides reached an agreement on a permanent deal for him.

The paper reports that Betis have already reached an agreement with Leeds to sign Roca permanently following his loan deal at the club this season.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side were keen to keep hold of him due to his performances for them this year and instead of extending his loan deal for a second year, they looked to make the move permanent.

Leeds initially sought €12 million, but Betis were able to negotiate it down considerably to reach a deal worth just under €5 million in total.

They used the fact that Leeds are in the Championship, need money and that Roca was in the final year of his contract at Elland Road to their advantage to negotiate a price that suited them.

The operation is now in its final stages and both clubs are already exchanging the relevant documents with a view to formalizing the transfer and ensuring Roca is their player before Betis kicks off pre-season at Luis del Sol Sports City on July 8.th.
