Search dogs and fire crews were seen heading up to where Jay Slater was seen.

The British teenager went missing in Tenerife and has not been heard from since Monday 17 June. The desperate search for the 19-year-old has now entered its sixth day, the Manchester Evening News reports.




Emergency workers are searching a treacherous area of ​​30 kilometers in the hope of finding the teenager. Jay called a friend to say he was lost in the countryside and his phone battery was down to 1%.

Locals have since claimed he was seen “walking alone” up into the mountains on Monday morning before disappearing. At the rural search base, located just off a steep and narrow road about half a mile north of Masca, Civil Guard and Civil Defense teams were seen carrying out a new search of the area today, Saturday 22 June, which has a width of about 30 km. , as part of their efforts.

Search dogs were seen being walked up the hill to the base on a dirt track as a number of Bomberos (fire brigade) personnel also attended the scene and were seen meeting each other on the hillside during the rescue mission.

On Friday, June 21, the rescue teams of the Civil Defense declared Manchester Evening News that there had been “no developments” in the search. The Gardaí have not made any further statements or provided an update on the ongoing efforts.
