ITV Coronation Street spoilers: One resident is arrested and another decides to go on the run

Coronation Street fans are in for a treat next week as Joel Deering’s secret could finally be revealed.

The public knows that Joel assaulted Lauren and left her for dead, but his secret has yet to be revealed. Could someone blow his cover next week?

Meanwhile, another local finds himself in handcuffs for theft.

A Weatherfield resident decides he needs a break from the Cobbles and makes a quick exit. There’s confusion when heartbroken Steve McDonald misunderstands plans for a surprise party.

Gemma Winter finds herself in hot water next week when she resorts to theft to get Carys the shoes she desperately needs. She takes Carys to the shoe store for a fitting, but when he tells her the shoes cost £45, she knows she can’t afford them, the Mirror reports.

However, when the nurse is distracted, Gemma takes the opportunity to leave the store with Carys and the unpaid shoes. When Bernie sees the shoes, he wonders how Gemma could afford them, but will Gemma confess?

Later, Gemma finds herself arrested for theft. Bernie begs Kit to step in and help her get Gemma out.

He visits the shoe store to discuss the theft incident with Bruce. Grateful for his help, she becomes curious when Kit shows an interest in helping her and introduces her to both Chesney and the kids – will the truth come out?

Abi runs after it.

Abi prepares to leave Weatherfield next week as the pressure of a deep fake AI plot becomes too much for her. She decides to take a break and stay with Lynsey and the twins.

Meanwhile, Kevin does his best to convince Stefan to help with the fake video problem. He informs Tyrone that he convinced Stefan – the father of Seb Corey’s killer – to finance the removal of the videos.

However, it later emerged that Stefan was unwilling to pay the annual £60,000 required to remove the videos. The question remains, what will Kevin do next?

Joel’s secret could be about to be revealed next week. It is known that he assaulted and possibly killed Lauren, but her body has not yet been discovered.

Next week, Dee-Dee and Ed are scheduled to have lunch at the bistro with Anthea and Gus – Joel’s parents.

Anthea’s apology takes Dee-Dee by surprise, but they are both stunned when Amy inadvertently reveals her engagement. Sabrina’s friend warns her about Joel’s creepy nature, making her realize her error.

But will she realize her true character?

Sabrina’s friend insists on meeting Joel – but what could they possibly want from him?

Coronation Street’s Steve finds himself on the wrong end of a misunderstanding next week. His friend Tim is keen on a night out to mark his 50th birthday, but their plans are put on hold when Sally informs Tim of the unveiling of a bronze bust of Tommy Orpington, which ran away with Steve’s wife, Tracy Barlow, to Spain.

The situation worsens further when Tim tells Steve he can’t join him and remains tight-lipped about why, leading Steve to believe a surprise party is being planned. This suspicion is fueled when Sally and Tim are overheard discussing new outfits.

Amy reveals to Steve that Tracy has delayed her return to the UK, leaving him secretly disappointed as his plan to win her back fails. When he questions Cassie, Kevin and Tyrone about his supposed surprise party, they all feign ignorance, convincing him they’re not telling the truth – but will the real reason behind Tim’s absence from the night be revealed?
