The Aston Villa fan who suffered a cardiac arrest during the Olympiacos match has left hospital

An Aston Villa fan who suffered a cardiac arrest during a European match has been released from hospital after eight days. Josh Moseley was all smiles as he posed for a picture outside the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham last night.

The 24-year-old would have lost his life had it not been for the quick actions of a trainee paramedic. Holte End season ticket holder Heidi Elliott gets in on the action as she leaps over several rows of seats during half-time in Villa Villa’s Europa Conference League semi-final first leg against Olympiacos on Thursday 2 May.

Heidi performed CPR as paramedics rushed to the scene. Fans were asked to vacate Lower Holte L2 Block as the public announcer said: “Supporters must vacate Lower Holte End L2 immediately.” Shortly after Heidi performed CPR and the patient was shocked, an ambulance returned between the Holte End and the Doug Ellis Stand to take him to hospital.
