Alvarez responds to United links

West Ham midfielder Edson Alvarez has broken his silence after being linked with a move to Manchester United. The Mexico international worked with Erik ten Hag at Ajax, winning the Eredivisie title twice in their three seasons together, before ten Hag moved to United in 2022.

Alvarez, 26, is currently preparing for the Copa America and when asked about being linked with a move to Old Trafford, he said: “I can only tell you that I am focused on what I have to do.

“I know that the Copa America is a very important tournament where the eyes of the world are practically here. Later there will be time to see what is there or what is not.”

Liverpool are looking at Rabiot

Liverpool are in the mix to sign upcoming free agent Adrien Rabiot, who has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the past. Erik ten Hag’s first transfer window even saw former transfer chief John Murtough fly to Turin in the summer of 2022, but he failed to agree on contract terms after agreeing terms with Juventus.

Rabiot, 29, is out of contract at the end of this month and although cash-strapped Juve want to keep him, other clubs such as Liverpool and Real Madrid are preparing offers, Sportitalia claim. The left-handed midfielder has so far started for France at Euro 2024.

Galatasaray are advancing in their pursuit of Wan-Bissaka

“Great progress” has been made in a potential deal for Manchester United to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Turkish giants Galatasaray. According to beIN Sports, Gala bosses plan to offer the 26-year-old right-back, whose contract at Old Trafford expires in 2025, on a four-year deal.

The move would then depend on Wan-Bissaka’s decision. Galatasaray have alternatives, however, namely Burnley defender Lorenz Assignon and Paris Saint-Germain’s Nordi Mukiele.
