Live updates at Manchester Airport as ‘significant number of flights’ canceled due to major power cut

A “significant number of flights” from Manchester Airport are at risk of cancellations due to a major power outage in the area. Passengers were also told not to show up at the airport without checking the status of their flight with the airline.

In a statement, a Manchester Airport spokesman said: “Manchester Airport was affected by a major power cut in the area earlier this morning (Sunday 23 June). This has caused widespread disruption and a significant number of flights, particularly from Terminals 1. and 2, are expected to be delayed or cancelled.




“Passengers due to travel from Terminals 1 or 2 today are advised to contact their airlines for updated information before arriving at the airport. Passengers due to fly from Terminal 3 should arrive at the airport as normal, unless advised otherwise by the airline. but could be affected by delays.

“We apologize for any inconvenience and aim to restore normal service as soon as possible.”
