Police are investigating the unexplained death after the body was found in Brixton Hill

Detectives are investigating the mystery surrounding the death of a man in south London.

The 44-year-old’s body was discovered in the street in Brixton Hill, Lambeth, on Monday morning.

Police were called to New Park Road by the London Ambulance Service shortly before 7am.

His death is currently being treated as suspicious and a crime scene remains in place.

A Met spokesman said: “Officers attended and found the body of a 44-year-old man.

“His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

“A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.”

Detectives are leading inquiries from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command and no arrests have been made.
