Hibernian will compete with Rotherham United for the former Coventry City man

SPFL side Hibernian are keen to sign former Coventry City goalkeeper Marko Marosi on a free transfer amid interest from Rotherham United, Huddersfield Town and Birmingham City.

The 30-year-old is set to leave Shrewsbury when his contract expires at the end of June, with a host of clubs. being linked to his signature. He was also on the books of Barnoldswick Town, Wigan Athletic, Doncaster Rovers and Coventry City before linking up with the Shrews in 2021.

Marosi went on to make 147 appearances for the League One side, keeping 35 clean sheets in the process before his departure.

Huddersfield Town, Birmingham City and Rotherham have all been linked with the Shropshire Star as well as Wrexham, before them secured the signature of Arthur Okonkwo.

Now, according to Alan Nixon, Hibernian are the latest club to be linked with a move for the former Slovakian youth international. This comes as news about Stevenage Interest in Hibernian goalkeeper JoJo Wollacott emerges from the same source.

Where will Marko Marosi go next?

Marosi is a solid goalkeeper for his level, he has a vast quantity of experience during his spells at Coventry City, Doncaster Rovers and Shrewsbury Town and on a free transfer is a bargain.

He was expected to link up with Steve Evans at Rotherham United, with the Shropshire star going so far as to say the move was expected. However, as of today, he is yet to secure a new club and that could be down to the extra interest his availability has garnered.

Wrexham are seemingly out of the race now after securing Okonkwo following his departure from Arsenal, which leaves the other two teams relegated from the Championship. as well as Hibernian on the run.

Hibs are apparently preparing for Wollacott’s departure, which despite his lack of appearances would leave the goalkeeping department lacking in depth.
