Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham to take on Tom Brady’s Birmingham City as Rob McElhenney wanted

It looks like Rob McElhenney was struggling for a matchup against Tom Brady’s team. The actor and Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham are set to take on seven-time Super Bowl champions Birmingham City next season.

Brady was earlier this month invited by Wrexham AFC co-owner Rob McElhenney for a football clash as both teams will now play in the same division. The wish has now come true and both sides will now face each other in the upcoming League One season.

After Tom Brady’s Birmingham City were relegated and Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham were promoted, the two sides are now set to play each other in the same division, competing in the third tier in an all-American clash; exactly what Rob McElhenney had wanted.

Birmingham City were relegated from the Championship even though the team won 1-0 against Norwich City in the last game of the season. Meanwhile, Wrexham were promoted to EFL League One for the second consecutive time after finishing the campaign second in the table.

When Rob McElhenney expressed his desire for a matchup against Tom Brady’s Birmingham

Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney has earlier expressed his desire to have a showdown with Tom Brady’s Birmingham City.

While appearing in a conversation with the MLB London Series, the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native said, “The question is, are we going to get Tom to come to us or are we going to have to come to Tom.”

The 47-year-old also said: “Maybe both.” He also spoke about how his team won back-to-back promotions. It remains to be seen how this celebrity battle plays out, as the 46-year-old retired NFL star is known for his competitive side.

Meanwhile, Brady, who was recently inducted into the New England Patriots’ Hall of Fame at sold-out Gillette Stadium, made his televised debut for Fox Sports during last week’s UFL Championship Game following his 10-year contract years worth 375 million dollars with the media house. He will act as the lead analyst for the upcoming NFL league.
