The car drives through McDonald’s – now a man is fighting for his life

A man suffered life-threatening injuries when a car crashed through a McDonald’s restaurant in South Yorkshire.

Footage captured the horrific aftermath of the crash which left the car inside the restaurant after smashing through the wall of the restaurant in Thorne Road, Doncaster. The driver was detained on suspicion of dangerous driving.




Smash saw fire, police and ambulance crews rush to the scene on Saturday afternoon as the restaurant was busy with horrified customers.

The footage (above) shows a white Vauxhall car inside the restaurant and surrounded by debris. A man, aged 31, was arrested, while another man, aged 37, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The police had to evacuate the restaurant. A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said at the time: “We were called at around 4pm today (Saturday) to reports of a road traffic collision at McDonalds on Thorne Road, Doncaster.


“It is reported that a white Vauxhall Astra has crashed into the side of the restaurant building. Officers attended, supported by officers from British Transport Police, and the fire and ambulance service.
