Harvey Rowe and former Bradford City man Bailey Sloane, from Farsley

Farsley Celtic have signed Harvey Rowe and Bailey Sloane following their departures from Bradford City and Accrington Stanley respectively, as announced by the club’s official website.

Bradford City made the decision to cut ties with Rowe at the end of last season and he subsequently became available for nothing. He spent time with the National League North side on loan last term and is now back there permanently.

He wasn’t the only player to leave Valley Parade and left the League Two side along with Dylan Youmbi, Finn Cousin-Dawson, Harry Chapman, Heath Richardson, Isaac Robinson, Liam Ridehalgh, Luke Hendrie, Matt Derbyshire, Noah Wadsworth and Sam Bentley . .

Sloane, 21, was not offered a new deal from Accrington Stanley this summer and has now found a new home. The left-back has been loaned out to non-league AFC pair Telford United and Radcliffe in recent years to gain some experience.

Rowe rose through the academy ranks at Bradford City and was a regular for them at various youth levels.

The 20-year-old, who is from Huddersfield, plays either right-back or right-back.

As well as his spell at Farsley last term, he has also had a temporary spell at Guiseley in the past.

He never made a senior appearance for the Bantams and they opted not to keep him tight.

As for Sloane, he has played for a few clubs so far in his career despite his young age.

The defender started at Bury and has since played for AFC Fylde, Bury AFC, Avro and Clitheroe in the North West.

Accrington Stanley signed him in 2022 and he went on to play five times for their senior team under their former manager John Coleman.

New chapter

Both Rowe and Sloane have time on their side and will be looking to use their move to Farsley as a chance to get some regular minutes with a view to returning to the Football League in the future.

They left behind two teams who will be eagerly awaiting the start of the new League 2 campaign.
