Man dies on popular South West beach

A man has died following a medical emergency on a popular beach in Cornwall. Several emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to Praa Sands on Saturday afternoon (Saturday 22 June) following a concern for a man’s welfare.

The police were alerted to the incident on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. A man was reported to be suffering from a medical episode.




Unfortunately, and despite the efforts of the emergency crews, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the coroner.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were called by the ambulance service to Praa Sands beach at 3pm on Saturday following reports of a person suffering a medical episode.

“Unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
