Woman arrested after racist hate letters were posted through mailboxes

An arrest has been made as part of an investigation after some Bedworth residents reported receiving racist letters. Police have received a number of reports from residents who have returned to India with letters posted through their mailboxes.

A Warwickshire Police spokesman confirmed a 52-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday afternoon (22 June). Her arrest was on suspicion of making malicious communications.



She was taken into custody and questioned. She was later released on bail while inquiries continue. As part of this, police are appealing for anyone to come forward with any information.
