Birmingham City eye move for Burnley goalkeeper Peacock-Farrell

Birmingham City are considering a move for Burnley goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell this summer, according to The Mirror.

Birmingham City are preparing their squad for life in League One after last season’s relegation.

The Blues suffered relegation to the Championship in what came as a surprise to many.

Birmingham City were in the top six under John Eustace at the start of the season, but his sacking and the appointment of Wayne Rooney saw their campaign slump.

They were relegated on the final day and are now preparing for the third tier under new boss Chris Davies.

Peacock-Farrell spent last season on loan in Denmark. He played 28 games for the Danish club in all competitions and kept 11 clean sheets.

The 27-year-old is entering the final year of his Burnley contract and has made just 24 appearances for the Clarets since joining in 2019.

His future has yet to be decided upon his return to Turf Moor, but Birmingham City are interested in striking a deal as they aim to add another goalkeeper to their ranks.

Who is this?

THE QUIZ STARTS!

The best move

Peacock-Farrell only gets regular game time when he goes out on loan at the moment.

The former Leeds United stopper could do with sealing a permanent move somewhere and that would allow him to settle down and focus solely on football.

Davies could do with adding Peacock-Farrell to his ranks as he would not only get a more than capable goalkeeper but also has valuable experience at this level.

Birmingham City are taking a risk this summer but are aiming for promotion at the first time of asking this coming season.

The Blues cannot afford to get their summer business wrong and failure to get promoted this season could lead to further problems.

League One is not an easy division to master. Several big clubs have been caught out in the past and have taken their time to return to the Championship. Promotion this season is possible, but they have to do it the right way.
