TUI issues statement to Manchester Airport passengers

TUI has issued a statement following the power outage at Manchester Airport which caused severe travel disruption over the weekend. The airline said it was “working closely” with the airport team and apologized for the “inconvenience caused”.

Sunday flights from Terminal 1 and 2 were canceled for several hours due to a power outage, which took place in the early hours. Power was later restored and the airport said it was “operating as usual” today (Monday). TUI said none of its flights had been cancelled, but some due to depart yesterday had been rescheduled for today.

The airline said customers due to fly would be contacted directly. In a statement on its website, TUI said: “We would like to apologize to everyone affected by the power outage that occurred at Manchester Airport on Sunday 23 June.
