Leeds United and Wolves have struck as the new manager looks to limit his target

According to a claim in Turkish media, Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho wants Bright Osayi-Samuel to stay at the club.

There have been reports in the British media of interest from the pair and it has filtered back to Turkey that Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are showing interest in the defender.

The former Queens Park Rangers right-back has just 12 months left on his contract at Fener and that has naturally encouraged clubs elsewhere to believe they can land him.

However, the latest reports from Turkey say that Fenerbahce are trying to tie down the player at Mourinho’s request.

Negotiations have already begun with the state of Vatan to extend his contract beyond June 2025. Again, Vatan mention the interest of Leeds United and Wolves in the 26-year-old.

It has been reported that there is still no sign of a deal for the Nigerian, but these developments will be a concern for the two English sides given Mourinho’s desire to keep hold of him and the power he is likely to have only recently arrived.

Osayi-Samuel played 29 games for Fenerbahce last season, scoring three goals.
