LCBO extends retail store hours ahead of potential strike

All stores will open early at 9:30 a.m. starting Thursday, June 27

The LCBO says it will extend store hours starting this week in anticipation of a potential employee strike.

With collective bargaining ongoing between the LCBO and OPSEU, the union will be in a legal strike position beginning at 12:01 a.m. Friday, July 5, the LCBO said in a statement.

The LCBO announced today that it will extend the program to all stores in the province from Thursday, June 27th to Thursday, July 4th.

All stores will open early at 9:30am. While many stores will remain open until 10 p.m., closing times will vary by location, the LCBO said.

“We encourage customers to shop early and stock up on their favorite products,” the LCBO said. “Our shelves are well stocked and we are doing everything we can to maintain stock levels.”

Customers are encouraged to check local store hours here, which will be updated when the extended hours go into effect, the LCBO said.

Customers are reminded that all LCBO retail locations will be closed on Canada Day, Monday, July 1.
