Major road closed after ‘car and motorbike accident’

A major road has been partially closed this evening following an accident.

The crash happened on Borough Road in Birkenhead, near the junction with Whitford Road, at around 9pm on Monday 24 June. Pictures sent to the ECHO showed several police cars at the scene and a cordon in place.

A black hatchback appeared to be involved in the crash, as well as a motorcycle that could be seen in the police cordon. Photos show the airbag in the black car inflated.

A witness told the ECHO the crash involved a car and a motorbike. The ECHO has contacted Merseyside Police for further information on the incident and the nature of any injuries.

On social media, one user warned people to “avoid Borough Road”, adding that “the police have recorded it by old Kingsland”. We will bring you the latest updates, pictures and videos on this breaking news.
