15-year-old girl dies after falling from height as police launch investigation

A 15-year-old girl has tragically lost her life after falling from a height in Sheffield, leaving a community in shock.

The incident happened on Huntingtower Road in Sheffield at around 7.45pm on Wednesday, April 10, prompting South Yorkshire Police to rush to the scene following reports of the fall.

Despite the best efforts of both officers and paramedics, the young woman was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene. Her family have since been informed and are receiving support from the police, Yorkshire Live reports.

In a statement, South Yorkshire Police said: “Emergency services were called to Huntingtower Road in Sheffield at around 7.45pm on Wednesday night (April 10) following reports that a 15-year-old girl had fallen from above”.

“Despite the best efforts of our attending officers and paramedics at the scene, she was sadly pronounced dead a short time later. Her family have been informed and are being supported by our officers. We would ask that their privacy be respected in this difficult situation. time.”

The death is currently not being treated as suspicious. However, due to prior police contact, a mandatory referral was made to the Independent Police Conduct Office.
