Two dead and another injured in separate stabbing incidents in London

Two people have been killed and another injured in separate stabbing incidents in London.

The Metropolitan Police said a 26-year-old man, Trei Daley, died and another man, 24, was treated for his injuries after they were stabbed in Hackney Wick, east London.

Police were called to an east London hospital at around 4.30am on Saturday after they turned up with stab wounds.

The 24-year-old was discharged.

Mr Daley, from Bromley, south London, was stabbed near the Color Factory nightclub in Queen’s Yard, just off White Post Lane in Hackney Wick, Scotland Yard said.

No arrests have been made and a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

DCI Jim Eastwood said the area was still busy, despite it being early in the morning, and there would be people who “saw or heard something”.

In a separate incident, a man in his 50s was stabbed to death in Lambeth, south-west London.

Emergency crews were called at 1:30 a.m. Saturday to a seriously injured man at a Hicken Road apartment.

The man was taken to hospital where he died a short time later.

A man, also aged 50, was arrested on suspicion of murder.

He was taken to a south London police station and remains in custody.

There is no suggestion that the attacks in east and south-west London are linked.

The deaths come after it was revealed that the number of fatal stabbings in England and Wales is at its the highest level since records began more than 76 years ago.

The Office for National Statistics said the recent increase was driven by an 18% rise in the number of male victims, from 184 to 218, in the 12 months to March 2022.
