Steve Cooper has revealed how many transfers Leicester City should make – and which they shouldn’t

Emile Heskey believes Steve Cooper needs to add 4-6 players to ensure Leicester City stay in the Premier League next season.

Cooper, recently confirmed as Enzo Maresca’s successor, revealed on Monday that the Foxes are working on “the right additions” ahead of the 2024/25 campaign. They do this by taking into account the calculation of the Profitability and Sustainability Rules and the tax currently hanging over their heads.

However, Heskey, who spent 13 years at City, predicts a difficult first season back for his former club, striking the right balance between caution and preparation.

“It’s going to be very, very difficult for Leicester next season because even though you can say they have a Premier League team, it’s the bottom half of the Premier League team,” Heskey told OLBG.

“They will have to bring in players, but how will they do that? It sounds like they might get a points deduction, but then you have to spend more.

“The problem with FFP is that it tends to hit smaller clubs harder when you’re trying to fight big names and stay in the league.
