Police are revealing why they were at the commercial premises off Leeds Road all weekend

POLICE have revealed why they were at a commercial building off Leeds Road all weekend.

Five force vehicles – including four vans and a car – were pictured on an industrial estate just off Leeds Road, near its junction with Rushton Road, in Bradford at around 4.15pm on Sunday.

A member of the public, who wished to remain anonymous, said officers had been there since early Saturday afternoon.

Drone footage sent to the Telegraph & Argus showed several officers guarding the area, as well as a cordon around what appeared to be a waste dump.

Workers were going about their business as normal in and around the police focussed area when T&A visited the site on Sunday.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said today: “Police are investigating after officers saw a stolen vehicle at a business on Leeds Road, Bradford, on Saturday afternoon.

“Officers secured the premises to carry out a number of enquiries.”

Police have arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with the investigation and he is currently in custody.

The police cordon has been removed but Bradford’s precision squad are continuing to investigate.
