Police have launched an investigation after a 17-year-old boy was found dead in a village near Westbury

Police have launched an investigation after a teenager was found dead near Westbury.

999 crews raced to Lower Westbury Road in Bratton at around 1.30pm today (Monday) following reports of an unconscious casualty in the street.

Medics provided treatment, but the 17-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wiltshire Police said the young man’s death is not being treated as suspicious but it is believed they are working to establish the circumstances.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious and his next of kin have been informed,” a spokesman said.

Adding: “Our thoughts are with his family at this incredibly sad time.

“If you have any information that could assist our enquiries, please contact us on 101 quoting log number 185 of today’s date.”
