Taylor sets up hotline for tips on DA Mulroy as he pursues ouster

Tennessee Senator Brent Taylor and Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — State Sen. Brent Taylor has created a hotline so those who have had a negative experience with the district attorney’s office can share information privately.

Taylor said she set up the line so crime victims and current and former staff members could share their experiences with Mulroy.

The number to call or text is 901-501-5079. Those interested can email [email protected]

According to Taylor, the names will be kept confidential. Any relevant information will be shared with legal counsel for inclusion in the removal resolution.

Earlier this month, Taylor sent a letter to Lt. Gov. Randy McNally saying he plans to introduce a joint Senate resolution to remove Mulroy from office. It will be filed immediately after the November election, he said.

The cases listed for Mulroy will include ‘breach of duty’ for failing to properly prosecute convicted felons in possession of a firearm,” the letter said.
