Londoners advised to check before traveling ahead of London tram strikes

A series of tram strikes will take place over the next two weeks, affecting services in south London.

From Sunday 30 June to Monday 8 July and also from Thursday 11 July to Monday 15 July, members of the Tram and Infrastructure Maintenance Union United plan to strike, affecting London’s tram network.

If the action goes ahead, the entire London tram network is expected to experience reduced and disrupted services for some of these days.

In addition, London’s tram network is scheduled to close for essential maintenance on Saturday 6 July and Sunday 7 July.

Tram Strike Impact

Sunday June 30

Customers should complete their journeys by 8pm as services may have to end earlier than normal.

Monday July 1 to Friday July 5

No service is expected before 7am or after 6pm on the entire London Tram network

A reduced service will operate between:

  • Wimbledon and Reeves Corner
  • East Croydon and Beckenham Junction/New Addington

No services will operate through Croydon town center or from East Croydon to Elmers End

Saturday July 6th and Sunday July 7th

Track closure planned for maintenance between East Croydon and Beckenham Junction, Elmers End and New Addington

No service is expected before 7am or after 6pm on the entire London Tram network

A reduced service will operate between:

  • Wimbledon and Reeves Corner

Monday July 8

Services are expected to start later than normal, with possible disruptions throughout the day

Tuesday 9th to Thursday 11th July

Normal service is expected to operate, but some service interruptions may occur at short notice.

Friday July 12 to Sunday July 14

No service is expected before 7am or after 6pm on the entire London Tram network

A reduced service will operate between:

  • Wimbledon and Reeves Corner
  • East Croydon and Beckenham Junction/New Addington

No services will operate through the town center or from East Croydon to Elmers End
