Cam Scott explains key reason for leaving Hull FC as move to Wakefield Trinity confirmed

Cam Scott says “a change was needed” after confirming his exit from Hull FC at the end of the season. The 24-year-old will join Wakefield Trinity in 2025 and beyond, as first reported by Hull Live in March.

Scott has signed a two-year contract with the West Yorkshire club, which has the option of a third year. His move to Trinity will end a seven-year stay at Hull, with Scott joining the Black and Whites ahead of the 2017 season.

The centre, who can also double up as a back-rower and full-back, has gone on to make 73 appearances for the club to date, scoring 15 tries.

Paying tribute to his time at the club, Scott said: “Firstly, I’d like to thank all the coaches and players who helped turn a childhood dream into reality. It’s a dream that I’m now lucky enough to call a professional.

“There comes a point where change is needed and I feel like that’s where I’m at right now. I really enjoyed my time at Hull FC and the place means a lot to me.

“I’m looking forward to finishing this season in the best possible way and with the best foot forward. I’m also looking forward to a new challenge with Wakefield, who are doing a lot of things right both on and off the pitch. Outlook it’s exciting.”

Scott is Wakefield’s third confirmed signing for 2025, with Tom Johnstone and Mike McMeeken also joining the club.
