Major changes revealed for Nuneaton council block that everyone will notice

Big changes have been revealed for Nuneaton Council blocks. Lexington Court was found to have “outdated, defective and unsafe” railings to walkways and balconies.

Now they are to be replaced by new, modern alternatives. A new planning application explains: “The proposed works will improve the aesthetics of the building while addressing safety concerns.”

Despite the changes to the council building, planning permission is still required from the council. The planning proposal explains that the new railings are low maintenance and will not require annual redecoration and repairs.

“The proposed new railings will be modern powder coated steel railings and will comply with all relevant legislation and safety standards,” the application adds. The renovation is similar to the one that has already taken place nearby at Dorlecote Court.

The plans are now being reviewed by City Hall officers. Residents can view the proposals by visiting the council’s website, searching in the planning applications section for reference 040340.
