Manchester United Women confirm the release of Lucia Garcia at the end of June

Manchester United have today confirmed that Lucia Garcia will leave the club when her contract expires at the end of June.

It means her time as a Red Devil is coming to an end after just two years, during which she scored 11 goals in the Women’s Super League.

The 25-year-old also played an influential role as United won their first major trophy in the form of the FA Cup last season, scoring twice in the final as the Reds thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 in a full at Wembley Stadium.

Despite wanting to stay at M16, Garcia was offered significantly improved terms to make the move to Mexican outfit Monterrey.

Her exit is expected to be followed by a widely speculated move for Mary Earps, who is also out of contract this summer. The Leoaica goalkeeper is closing in on a move to Paris Saint-Germain amid United’s efforts to keep him under control.
