Girl fighting for life in hospital after being hit by motorbike

A young woman has suffered life-threatening injuries following a collision with a motorbike in Atherstone. Warwickshire Police confirmed the girl, who has not been identified, remains in hospital this morning (June 26).

West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) told CoventryLive that he suffered “life-threatening injuries” following the collision on Coleshill Road, near the junction with Stanley Road, last night.




Police closed the stretch of road while medics attended to the girl. A WMAS spokesman said he received trauma care at the scene.

“We were called at 5.13pm to a road traffic collision involving a motorbike and a pedestrian on Coleshill Road in Atherstone,” said the WMAS spokesman.

“Two ambulances, a paramedic and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene. Upon arrival I found a child who was the pedestrian.

“She was assessed and suffered potentially life-threatening injuries. She received advanced trauma care at the scene before being transported to Birmingham Children’s Hospital by ground ambulance for further treatment.”
