Goshen will host the girls soccer summer league

A high school girls summer soccer league opened this week in Goshen and will run through July 24.

The Gladiator Summer League will feature teams made up of athletes from Cornwall, Goshen, Minisink Valley, Monroe-Woodbury, Newburgh, Pine Bush, Wallkill, Warwick, Washingtonville and Delaware Valley (Pa.).

The teams will play eight-on-eight action, with one-hour games played on two courts at Goshen High School.

The game started on Monday. The mini-playoffs will involve the top eight seeds, with quarterfinals, semifinals and a championship game at 7:15 p.m.—the playoffs will be played over two 20-minute halves or a 30-minute contest.

In the fall 2023 Section 9 final, Monroe-Woodbury beat Pine Bush, Valley Central topped Minisink Valley, Lourdes beat Beacon, O’Neill beat Spackenkill, Mount Academy beat Pine Plains and Livingston Manor topped Eldred.
