Pay to pray by owning your own church

A downtown church is up for auction. Moseley Holiness Wesleyan Church on Cromer Road, Balsall Heath, is listed with Bond Wolfe with a guide price of more than £135,000.

It will go under the hammer on Thursday, May 16, from 8.30 am. The agents said: “The property is being sold freehold, subject to a leasehold term of 100 years less one day commencing 25 March 2015 (approximately 91 years unexpired) at a rent of £2,750 per annum, subject to rent reviews every five years.”

A sign outside the church says there is a Sunday school and services on Sundays, along with a prayer meeting and Bible study on Wednesdays and Mondays for prayers.

It is just off the main Alcester road, off Brighton Road, so right in the heart of the community. There is also a banner in front of the building for “Foodshare”, with free meals and food every Wednesday.
