Knife attacker on the run after stabbing teenager in Bristol

Police are searching for a knife-wielding attacker after a teenager was stabbed in Bristol city centre. Police were called to the scene at Cabot Circus at around 7.40pm today, Thursday 27 June, shortly after the attack took place.

There is a cordon near McDonald’s at the junction of The Horsefair, Hanover Court and Concorde Street. A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said officers are currently searching for the suspect, who is believed to have been part of a small group of youths who fled following the attack.




The boy, believed to be under 16, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. His next of kin are aware.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a large presence of emergency services around Cabot Circus this evening. One person said: “Lots of police cars and ambulance at Cabot Circus tonight near McDonald’s with police tape. It looks serious”.

Avon and Somerset Police are now appealing for information from anyone who saw what happened. The force said in a statement: “Police are investigating after a teenager was stabbed in Bristol earlier this evening, Thursday 27 June.

“The 999 call came in at around 7.40pm shortly after the attack which took place near the junction of The Horsefair, Hanover Court and Concorde Street. Officers intervened immediately. The suspect would have been part of a small group of young people who fled after the attack.

“The boy went to hospital with injuries which are not currently believed to be life-threatening. He is believed to be under 16 and his next of kin are in the know. Uniformed officers are searching for the suspect.
