Suspect released after late-night stabbing in south London

A man has been taken to hospital after a midnight stabbing in Brixton.

Emergency services were called to Streatham Place at 2.24am this morning (June 27).

The stabbing victim, a man in his 40s, is believed to have been stabbed in Brixton Hill.

He was taken to a south London hospital where his injuries were assessed as life-threatening.

No arrests have been made and police inquiries are ongoing.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 2.24am on Thursday 27 June to reports of a man suffering from stab wounds in Streatham Place, SW2.

“The man, in his 40s, was taken to a south London hospital where his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening or life-threatening.

“He is believed to have been stabbed in Brixton Hill, SW9.

“No arrests have been made.

“Inquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting 758/27JUN or text @MetCC on X.”
