Chelsea have contacted Leicester City over a move for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Chelsea have contacted Leicester City over a move for midfielder Kieran Dewsbury-Hall, according to The Athletic.

Chelsea want another midfielder and have set their sights on the 25-year-old who impressed in the Championship last term with 12 goals and 14 assists in 44 league appearances.

Dewsbury-Hall is also open to leaving his boyhood club for Stamford Bridge. Chelsea will likely have to pay a significant fee for the midfielder as his contract runs until 2027.

However, the London club have shown they are ready to pay obscene amounts of money for players they like.

Chelsea believe Dewsbury-Hall is a perfect tactical fit for manager Enzo Maresca, having worked with him for the past term.

The Leicester City players’ player of the season could fit into Maresca’s 4-3-3 formation alongside Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

Chelsea fans will be wondering what implications Dewsbury-Hall’s arrival could have on Conor Gallagher’s future.

The club are looking to sell the 24-year-old England international in order to balance their books and Dewsbury-Hall’s signing could speed up his exit from the club.

Chelsea have wasted no time getting down to business this summer, although they have failed to plug any real first-team goals.

They have reportedly completed a deal to sign Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa for £19m.

The transfer received a lot of attention as the England youth international was an unknown quantity before his move.

Estevao Willian has also joined Chelsea’s seemingly never-ending search for young talent. Tosin Adarabioyo has moved to Chelsea after leaving Fulham.

The Blues are close to signing Barcelona teenage striker Marc Guiu while simultaneously trying to complete a deal for Boca Juniors man Aaron Anselmino.

Chelsea’s search for a striker to compete with Nicolas Jackson is ongoing and several disappointing options have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

They also have holes to fill at left back, left back and goalkeeper.
