All the amazing concerts at Villa Park Stadium in pictures

As the UK leg of Foo Fighter’s ‘Everything Or Nothing At All’ tour came to an incredible close in Aston, we’re taking a look back at some of the other gigs over the years.

Outdoor concerts have been around for many years, with Simon Le Bon and Duran Duran playing in July 1983. Bruce Springsteen played in June 1988 and returned again just last year in 2023 for another concert with the E Street Band.

As a rainbow stretched across the Villa Park Stadium on Thursday, June 27, Dave Grohl addressed the Brummie crowd. “What is this, Hawaii?!” he screamed. “Birmingham is the most beautiful city in the whole country! I feel like I’m on holiday!” Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler also joined the band on stage.

Another American band to play at Villa Park was Bon Jovi when they played in June 2013. Pink played just days before Bruce last year, playing on 13 June 2023 with Bruce there on 16 June. Take That had a full lineup when Robbie Williams returned with the band on 27 June 2011.

It is not a quiet concert. but Cliff Richard joined Billy Graham, the American Christian evangelist, at the Mission England Crusade at Villa Park, Birmingham on 6 July 1984 as a guest singer.
