Person in hospital after being thrown with bleach during fight at Richmond train station

One person was taken to hospital after a chemical was thrown at him in a brawl at Richmond train station.

The incident happened at Kew Road station, off Church Road, just before 2.30pm on June 24.

The police intervened, and the person was taken to the hospital, where his condition was assessed as non-threatening.

Police investigations found that the substance used was bleach, which had been heavily diluted with water.

No arrests have been made following the incident.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “Officers were called to Richmond station at around 2.37pm (June 24) following reports of a fight taking place on the platform and a chemical being thrown at to a person.

“Officers attended and one person was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

“Tests at the station indicated that the substance used was strong bleach diluted with water.

“Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to text 61016 quoting reference 389 of June 24.”
