A Bradford man attacked two police officers and was racist towards a sergeant

A MAN from Bradford attacked two police officers and was racist towards a sergeant.

Ishmael Deacon-Wildman, 32, of Lime Vale Way, in Buttershaw, was sentenced at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court last Monday for three offences.

These were two counts of assault on an emergency worker and racially/religiously aggravated fear/incitement to violence by word/writing.

On December 19 last year, Deacon-Wildman pleaded not guilty to all three offenses and a trial date was set for May 8, 2024.

The case actually continued the day before, but Deacon-Wildman failed to appear, so the courts issued a warrant for his arrest and he was found guilty in his absence.

The 32-year-old assaulted PC Metcalfe and PC Tanday in Bradford on March 5, 2023.

On the same day he also used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behavior towards PS Wattley which the court found to be racially aggravated.

Deacon-Wildman was given a one-year community order for his crimes.

This included 150 hours of unpaid work and must complete up to 10 days of rehabilitation activity requirement (RAR).

He was also ordered to pay £199 in total – which included £85 in costs and a £114 surcharge to fund victim services.
