Chelsea will battle Tottenham and Arsenal for Leeds star Archie Gray

Chelsea are set to battle London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham for Leeds United midfielder Archie Gray, according to reports.

The Blues have already signed Tosin Adarabioyo and Omari Kellyman, while also agreeing a deal to sign Barcelona forward Marc Guiu.

Despite having plenty of options, the club look set to sign more midfielders this summer and are in talks with Leicester over a move for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Dewsbury-Hall may not be the only midfielder arriving at Stamford Bridge this summer, with the Daily Mail reporting that Chelsea are among the clubs interested in Gray.

The report adds that London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are also interested in the services of the 18-year-old who shone for Leeds last season.

Leeds are in a position where they may have to sell some of their key players, failing to win promotion back to the Premier League, and alongside Gray, Crysencio Summerville falls into that category, and Chelsea have expressed , also the interest towards the extreme.

The Daily Mail add that Leeds have set a £30million asking price for Gray, who is regarded as one of the best young talents in Europe.

Gray made 52 appearances in all competitions for Leeds last season, including a man of the match in the FA Cup tie against the Blues at Stamford Bridge.

Whether Gray would suit Chelsea should they make the move is anyone’s guess, given the club have committed to spending more than £300m on midfielders of various profiles over the past two years.

While Gray is a brilliant talent, he needs to play regular football to develop, which currently looks highly unlikely at Chelsea and would be even more unlikely if the Blues complete a deal for Dewsbury-Hall.

You can’t sign everyone, so the Blues may have to accept that Gray will end up elsewhere.
