After Jamal Lowe, Sheffield Wednesday will sign a new striker

Sheffield Wednesday could have a new signing on the way, according to Jamal Lowe.

The Sheffield Wednesday News revealed on Saturday that striker Jamal Lowe has undergone a medical with Sheffield Wednesday following his release from Bournemouth at the end of last season.

The Jamaican international now looks set to become the Owls’ fifth signing of the summer, and their third free agent capture after Ben Hamer and Max Lowe both joined.

Yan Valery and midfielder Svante Ingelsson have been signed on permanent deals from Angers and Hansa Rostock respectively, the latter’s arrival announced by the club on Friday.

In what is shaping up to be a very positive summer transfer window so far for Danny Rohl and Sheffield Wednesday, it now looks like the club could have a sixth summer signing on the way, just over two weeks after the official opening of summer transfer window. for business.

Who is Sheffield Wednesday target Olaf Kobacki

Reports in Poland claim that Arka striker Olaf Kobacki, 22, is set to join Sheffield Wednesday on a permanent deal this summer.

The Polish striker, formerly of the Atalanta youth team, scored 15 goals and assisted three more in 34 league games for Arka last season.

His team finished 3rd in the Polish second tier and qualified for the play-offs, but failed to gain promotion to the Ekstraklasa.

Amid links with Derby County and Norwich City, Polish publication SportoweFakty say Kobacki’s next club will be Sheffield Wednesday.

What’s next for Sheffield Wednesday in the transfer market

Should Kobacki and Lowe join, they will be two strong additions to the offense; Lowe being a proven championship scorer and Kobacki a younger and more exciting catch.

With Ingelsson now also in midfield, though needing more bodies in the middle, Rohl could look to center back, with Di’Shon Bernard looking to become a free agent.

After that, Rohl could prioritize the return of James Beadle with Hamer likely brought in as the No. 2 goaltender for next season.

So while the summer so far has been a positive one with some exciting signings set to be announced in the near future, there is still plenty of work to be done for Rohl and head of recruiting Kevin Beadell this summer.

Then there’s the challenge of getting all these new players to spawn and play Rohl mode, which can be trickier than many think.
