Lewis Capaldi is bringing Glastonbury back a year after breaking the stage

Lewis Capaldi made a low-key return to Glastonbury, a year on from his emotional breakdown during his performance. The artist was seen mingling with celebrities such as Noel Gallagher and Cara Delevingne.

His return followed a challenging set on the Pyramid stage last year, after which he announced a hiatus from live performances. The Glastonbury Festivals supported Lewis as he battled the symptoms of Tourette’s syndrome, helping him fill out his songs when he lost his voice and battling tics during his main stage appearance.

Despite these challenges, chants of “oh Lewis Capaldi” resonated throughout his performance. Onstage, Lewis shared with the audience, “Recently, I took three weeks off just because I’ve been non-stop for the past year and I wanted to take a little break from my head for my sanity.

“I wanted to come back and do Glastonbury because it’s obviously so incredible, so I just want to thank you all for coming. I was scared but you really made me feel at ease, so thank you very much for that.”

He continued: “I feel like I’m going to take a bit of a break for the next couple of weeks so you probably won’t see much of me for the rest of the year. But when I come back, when I do. see you, I hope you’re all still up for watching.” reports the Mirror.

The Sun reported that an onlooker this weekend remarked: “Lewis looked so happy. He was saying how excited he was to be back at Worthy Farm and that he was going out to see a few shows at the weekend. Considering how hard the last visit was. for Worthy Farm it was, it was so nice to see him back here.”

Lewis has been open about his Tourette syndrome diagnosis and even produced a Netflix documentary detailing his experiences. Speaking to The Sunday Times, Lewis spoke about how singing can act as a trigger for his neurological condition.
