Man charged with drink driving after four-year-old boy was hit by car in Leicester

A man has been charged with drink driving after a four-year-old boy was hit by a car in Leicester. Leicestershire Police said the boy was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening after the incident, which happened on Cranmer Street, off Hinckley Road, in the West End, today (Saturday, June 29) , at 12:38 p.m.

The force said Karoly Obreclan, 62, of nearby Luther Street, had been charged and was due to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Monday 15 July.



Cranmer Street has been cordoned off by police at the junction with Hinckley Street following the incident. Witnesses at the scene said police took a car from the area.
