The Liverpool star looks set to rule out a summer move amid exit talks

Liverpool striker Luis Diaz says he is “very happy” at Anfield amid suggestions he could leave in the summer.

Liverpool redirect Luis Diaz said he is “very happy” at Anfield amid suggestions of a potential summer exit for the Colombia international.

The 27-year-old was once again a key player for the Reds in the 2023-24 campaign, making 49 appearances in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and registering five assists in the process.

Diaz still has three years to run on his contract at Anfield, but there have recently been claims he could be on the move during the upcoming transfer window.

Barcelona are believed to be one of a number of clubs that have expressed an interest in South America.

However, Diaz has suggested he has no plans to look for a summer move, with the striker predicting “great years” for the club despite exiting Jurgen Klopp as head coach.

Diaz has been linked with a summer move away from Liverpool

“I have grown a lot. From the beginning of my career until today, I feel that, with the passing of days, years, living each experience in each different team, coming to this great club that is Liverpool, leaves you with many lessons”, the Liverpool Echo quotes Diaz as saying.

“You learn more and more to be a professional, to be a better person, to be a good teammate and a good lad. The truth is I’m very happy to be here. Great years ahead for the club, I have no doubt about it.

“Personally, I will always try to do my best, always try to give 100%, always stand out on the field, which is what I came (here) to do. I am always grateful to God for every opportunity.”

Diaz moved from Porto to Liverpool in January 2022 and has represented the Merseyside side on 96 occasions, scoring 24 goals and registering 13 assists in the process.

Diaz apparently has no plans to seek a summer move

“It’s not a secret, we didn’t finish as we hoped. It was crucial for us to win the league and all the competitions we were in. Unfortunately, the results lately could not be achieved,” he added in a interview. with Liverpool’s official website.

“We fell (behind) as a team, but we had a decent season, both individually and as a group. There are many things to improve to be able to have a perfect season. But I’m happy and satisfied to be here.”

Paris Saint-Germain are another club believed to be interested in his signature, with the French champions preparing to replace him Kylian Mbappewho will leave on a free transfer at the end of next month.
