Birmingham’s A38M has closed after a serious accident

A major road in Birmingham has been closed due to a serious crash, police said.

The A38(M) Aston Expressway was closed in both directions from junction six of the M6 ​​to Lancaster Circus at approximately 04:30 BST on Sunday, police said.

The closure was likely to remain in place for most of the morning, West Midlands Police said.

AA Traffic News said the closure was due to a serious crash involving three cars just after midnight on Sunday.

Motorists have been urged by police to find alternative routes in Birmingham to avoid the area.
